Gun permit for germany

By the way, the permit I received was certified by the office of the Mayor of Frankfurt and one nice thing they note is that the permit is extended if there is a delay or change in flight plans.

My friends you see it all wrong the german police helped me get rid of a gun i didnt want have.

I have email with several autoraties in germany and this is the last answer i got so i still have no permit
Dear Mr......,

If the weapon is full automatic a permit cannot be issued. For other weapons the permit is issued by the competent
authority of the German Laender, not by customs. The list of the competent authorities is here:

I recommend contacting them.

If the gun has the required marking "F in Pentagon" no permit is required.

Well I checked my airsoft guns in a Pelican case at Washington, DC on my Lufthansa flight. I had to change planes in Frankfurt to get to Stockholm and I had my permit ready. Unlike the US, you do not collect your baggage to connect, so when I passed the Zoll I did as the permit said - I told them I had a permit and checked weapons. They could not have cared less, and had I not had a permit they would have been none the wiser. I think the permit would be really important if the flights get changed and I have to layover in Frankfurt. The permit allows for such an incident.

hiho. I know germany can be a real bummer, when it comes to gun laws!! i am quire active in a german airsoft forum and there are a few ways around the joule/mps rules;
1) the asg must have a velocity of less than 77 mps or 0,5 joule with a 0.20 bb which can be achieved by shortening the main spring by aprrox 1/3 (def. chrono it!!)
2) dismanteling the asg and transporting the parts in different boxes (motor and springs in one box and the gb in another)
the safest version ist #1 because the asg then abides with german law!!
If possible i would send your gear per dhl or danzas and save yourself the hassel!!! greetz skies

#1 doesn't protect you from the danger that the customs/ police could confiscate your weapon and keep it for further testing, which would take some weeks.

correct me if i'm wrong, but doesn't a >0,5 FA gearbox fall under the weaponlaw, which meas you could only transport it with a permit, because it is part of a weapon?


As you said, the easiest way to send your weapons to Berget, or do as EagleDriver suggested and fill out the forms and get in contact with your airline....or avoid traveling via germany.

Your wrong. The gearbox itself is not an issue in the German law. It is the complete weapon as is taking more than this 0.5J.

no he isn't wrong, a FA Gearbox is a violation of the "Kriegswaffenkontrollgesetz".

In the german law the relevant parts of a gun are treated the same as the whole gun.
So FA >0,5J is in Germany a absolute no go.
The gearbox (without selectorplate) itself, if it propells <7,5J is freely available if you are older than 18 years.
But if you have more than the gearbox with you this is an other case.
So splitting the gun in its parts alone is no solution.

if you transport only the gearbox --yes.
But you should not have a FA selectorplate in your luggage.

give all plates to one mate, all gearboxes to an other, that should work
