I might have some difficulties reading english as it is my native language but but this is taken from the B10 site official teams description:

Zansian "Black guard" Infantry Battalion
This unit will have field hospitals.

I wonder that me and few other more familiar players in other units never ever saw one or used one... =) Were there actually any used on our side ?

:P

or did somebody just "forgot" to use them ?

:P

Some other teams seems to have used these several times... :?

If Zansia had field hospitals nobody told about them. Poldavia apareantly had but we never found anyone.

There was a Poldavian Field Hospital set up in Janco on Friday afternoon, IIRC. I did use it once.

I did use one and it was great.

It would make sense to me if the mech was tasked to transport it and then the sappers were tasked to set up the field hospital (so making these 2 specialised units work together and perform their specific roles) and that it was some sort of larger undertaking to set it up, ie taking time, effort and leadership skills to erect 9x9 tents with props etc in them, and only after all that could you use it. sappers could then fortify the area. On wed night it just looked like the props had been dumped on the ground which didn't strike me as a field hospital at all. Our commanders sometimes didn't seem to be aware of where it was, as I was sent to Janco although it wasn't present.

So I think a rules tweak is in order (keep the 8 hour re spawn, that's a nice hefty penalty!) but it is a great idea you should keep.

I'd also suggest that you need to be in or touching the tents to respawn as we had lots of dead players sat in the village amongst the live defenders which might have caused problems in event of an attack.

HOWEVER

We had trouble getting respawn approved as Beget events told us we needed a GM to OK the hospital before respawn was possible. BE trust your players! If we can be trusted to take hits we can be trusted to set up our hospital!
I agree with this.

Maybe it would be a good idea to include a radio or perhaps just a simple and cheap cellphone with each field-hospital and a number to call BE Crew with?

That way you could set up the hospital anywhere as long as you were obliged to call in the coordinates on the map of where it is located and at what time it was set up, and also if i was blown up so that the GM's can easily keep track of field hospital respawn times and such.
