Thanks from Fleischer company - Foxtrot platoon

Post by knudsen » 01 Jul 2013, 01:33

On behalf of my team (Roughnecks) I would like to thank everybody for an epic Berget 11.

Before the memories fade too much I'll write some of the highlights down.

The "high-speed"-car-chase:
I think it was Thursday evening. We were sitting in our camp preparing our dinner, when we hear the alarm go off. As it turns out, a GCT vehicle made a "drive-by-shooting" on the road close to our tent. Our reaction was "hell-no!" so we grabbed our guns and gear in a hurry, Jumped on our 4x4 (the Barbarian) and took up the pursuit along with one other Raven vehicle. We caught up with the GCT car by "The Old Mine" as it was about to turn back and make another drive-by (or so we think), but as it spotted us, it turned the other way and drove like hell to get away. Now it got really awesome, we had 7-8 guys on the back of the Barbarian and every man that was able to point a gun i the direction of the GCT car, was raining hell down on the it. I was in a good position with my M249 so I was unloading in in an alarming rate. The GCT guys however put up one hell of a fight. and we were taking casualties (including me). So we slowed down a little to let the other Raven car get up front to keep up the pressure, and so our medics could treat the wounded. (by then the GCT vehicle had taken several BAVS grenade-hits, but was still alive.) After a while the other Raven car managed to stop the GCT car, and what a sight it was. Both sides had taken casualties as the car chase came to a halt. But the GCT guys wasn't all dead. We made up for that with a sweep of the car and shot the rest as they had next to no cover.
And with that it was all over. And Oh my lord it was awesome!
A big big thanks to all involved!

The Saturday morning raid on the GCT base:
Due to some awesome Intel. about REALLY low GCT activity around the border in the early hours of the day. The Danes in Foxtrot made made up a daring plan to infiltrate the GCT base and assassinate as many GCT commanders and officers as possible.
The plan was made, and approved by HQ.
So at 0200 in the night. We got up, donned our gear and made for the which-doctors hut, were The Barbarian dropped us of in small teams off 2-6. I was on the first drop-off along with my two other squad-mates for the morning, and a sniper team of two guys. We then made for the northern border in one team. By the old mill trading station. We split up and made for our respective positions around the GCT base. And due to some very very good tracking by my teammate, we were in position close to the base not long thereafter. Along the way we bypassed two tripwires.
Now all we had to do was wait and pray that the other teams would find their positions too. Two mosquito infested, and nerve wrecking hours later the shit hit the fan. The watch read 0900 and we were five minutes away from commencing the raid, when a call came over the radio "we were spotted by one enemy GCT taking a piss" we just had time to think --- SPAM !!! --- --- SPAM !!! --- --- SPAM !!! ---. this isn't good. but then a follow-up call was made: "...he is neutralized and in our custody." Now we had to get working. The go-ahead was given and every team was now bearing down on the sleepy GCT base. And the first thing many GCT players heard that morning was me greeting them by sticking my head in their tent and saying "good morning, you are all dead".
Shortly after all the teams on foot had sat foot in the base. The Barbarian with a QRF force crossed the border and headed for the GCT base with our signature horse-horn glaring.
Organized chaos now ruled. We searched like mad for the GCT commander and any high-value targets we could find. The radio-chatter was intense, and different reports was popping up.
We knew that we didn't have much time to make the kills and secure the evidence. Because we only were about 25 Danes (and a very small bunch of Dutch special forces who had missions to blow up fuel-depots and such. and 25-30 guys against a whole GCT base was not going to last long, no matter how tired the enemy was.
Finally a call got through the radio: "We have the package and are exfil". By that time most of us was already dead, so it was extremely nerve wrecking to listen to the radio chatter and not being able to do anything about it.
A small three-man team had made it out with the evidence of the kills (photos, rank-badges and armbands, as told by HQ).
The guys made for the border and was picked up shortly thereafter and escorted to the Raven base, where we all presented our "loot" to HQ.
Needless to say adrenaline levels was as at an all-time high that morning.
And again I would like to thank all the GCT players involved, who (almost without exception) took it all with a good spirit!

THANKS TO EVERYONE!

Let me return those thanks on behalf of the guys that fought against you: I wasn't there personally, but when my guys (the Unimog crew from GCT Mech) returned after that mission, they brought the most excited reports after how awesome that high-speed chase was, and each and every one of them loved the experience.

Maybe Shaw (who was there) can say a few words to this as well, but the GCT guys spoke of your folks in the highest regards after that. They only pitied they didn't have a BAVS weapon along themselves, but that's me to blame, and I will make up for that next year - how about a rematch then? :D

About the Saturday morning attack on GCT base. I was coming from respawn in main safe and I decided to try to knife kill as many of the attackers I could. I started to run towards one of the attackers and dashed forwards, as I was one meter away I reached my arm and pretty much simultaneously he shot me in the tigh with a high power rifle(it left alittle bloody mark) and I made the knife kill. I of course took the hit and the dane was healed by medic and continued to play. Real exiting moment and nicely timed attack! No harm done I think.

That is indeed why the quotation marks were used. But when you are sitting in the back of a pickup-truck going 30 kph. over a bumpy road, while you are leaned over the side shooting a heavy m249, it feels pretty damn fast! ;)

Good, we need to focus on safety especially when the vegetation is on the very border of the road..

Well, we indeed wanted to make a 2nd drive-by and see if we can manage to locate the HQ-code. Since the first passing worked out that good, it seemed to be worth a try. But then you guys showed up at the crossing! That was a hell of a chase and YES we were REALLY pissed off that we hadn't any AT. But since you had to hit us 6 times with 40mm BAVS it took a while
We all had our fun and due to the high pressure and adrenalin we all forgot to turn on the cameras.....
Hope to see you all again next year!

We are not Dutch, we're Belgian, but Flemish speaking similar to Dutch. For us a whole difference, because we got some awesome beer, not horsepiss like HEINEKEN..

But none the less: I am playing now +10y of Airsoft.. After all those years I got an adrenaline-rush that lasted for 1/2 hrs..

Those Danish dudes are awesome.. Totally calm.. I got a ride like shotgun with the driver. Had only my pistol with me..

Driving in the camp, just stopping at HQ, taking cover behind the door of the car and then securing my sector..

Looking at my left, red band, ok. Then some firing from the right.. For the shooter: BB's where just before my feet and left behind my head on the tent. You missed me with a few cm.. What a great shot!!

Shot 2 with my pistol, got empty.. A Danish dude (sounds great, doesn't it), gave me his side-arm and 3 magazines.. My hands where so shaking from the adrenaline.. Then the driver gave cover on the right side tents with the Italian flag. I flanked to there, running trough the tents, shot one and finally got shot by a GTC-guy..

The only bisar thing: All Danish dudes and my team where firing single shot, GTC was firing full- auto.. For me the campside was a CQB-area, so CQB-rules where for me logic.

Afterwards there disscussions if the full-auto/single shot was correct.. Didn't now the answer for sure.

But what a awesome frikking mission. :D

The wake-up call at 4 a.m was more then fulfilled.. And for the Danish Dudes: with you guys, anywhere and any time..

A big thanks from a Belgian 42y player..

Also thanks for the GTC: you where honest apponents who took there hits, even when I shot some from a very far distance (if any).. Those players proofed that Airsoft is really an gentlemens-sport..

Yeah, i actually had my doubts, regardless of your reputation of efficiency. So I threw in a "If you pull this off, I blow you one!".
Something that I came to regret later that day ;)

Awesome work! I do hope you will hook up with 6mm.se again for Berget 12.

As company commander for Thor i want to thank the Unimog crew for the chase. My guys told me that they had a totalt blast!

Did you achieve something with that saturday morning GCT base raid?

Did you get any commanders, oporders or something else?

I can admit that i was personally inside one of the tents that you came in saying "you all are dead" then i continued my sleep. 30min later i woke up, went to GM meeting and asked that do i need to be here since i am dead and they told me that i am not dead. Well anyway i asked that am i dead second time cos friday evening Mr.Medic (who was supposed to be dead also because we captured and killed him few hours before and BE told us that his in-game character is dead) brough nuke/dirty bomb to the GCT base wich killed all GCT players?

My point is that is it important or even fun to make missions that kill everyone from some faction in the middle of the game just dropping some box outside of their base? And if we are talking about nuke it does not matter where you blow it up since the power of such device kills all in-game players regarding of faction...

BTW I know we got ravens oporder during saturday by using undercover agent who photographed the whole oporder and delivered it to the GCT base...

Well, I was probably the only commander awake at that time (apart from Sonny, who got knifed in the HQ tent and was afterwards asked 'Where are your commanders?' :)), and I did actually get shot. The two shooters came over, checked that I had stars on me and called for a medic. They took my gun, healed me up, hauled me back on my feet to get me back to their base.

Since they had done nothing about securing me or properly checked for hidden weapons (I had a knife in my vest), I knocked out the one on my right, knifed the one on my left. Unfortunately the two of them weren't aware that this would've been a silent takedown, and called for a medic, so the third guy, who was walking about ten meters ahead, turned around and got me with his pistol just as I was dashing at him to bury my knife in his guts as well. Would've been fun to take down all three of them, but the four of us agreed that we'd all had fun in that, so I let 'em go about their way once the unconscious guy was back on his feet.

So yeah, they got at least one reported commander down (couldn't take me prisoner after having to shoot me for the second time), and they took my number and stars with me. To those three guys, I'm especially thankful for returning not only my stars, but also my pistol, which you had tucket in your backpack upon confiscation - I was getting a little worried there...
Been here since B08... :)
