power up cylinders, supressors and HPA

Post by sledgehammer » 24 Jan 2017, 00:34

I just wanted to start a thread regarding airsoft guns with power up cylinders and supressors.

in the rules is says that if you are using HPA you have to use a locking thing for the valve but it says nothing about PTWs with diffrent cylinders and power up supressors.

My question is if i have a gun with a power up supressor (without supressor 330fps and with supressor 430fps) can i chrono with and without supressor and use supressor with safty distance for 430fps and then take it of and use it with the safty distance for 330fps or do i have to chrono with the supressor and have the safty distance for 430fps even without the supressor?

feel free to use the thread for your own questions regarding this!

Rock on and see you this summer in sollefteå! :cooltank:

Seriously :), dude you can find at any hardware store the plastic clips Berget crew use for marking the guns, if some one wants to cheat he can do it, airsoft is a gentleman game, all so remember you have GM in the field who can crono the gun on the spot if he deems necessary.

If someone walks up to you with a bleeding forehead asking you what your safety distance is, waving 2 different chrono cards and doing a talk on power suppressors won't help your case and might be reported as cheating.

I'm no BE official but I'd stick to 1 chrono value, and preferably the higher one.

There shouldn't be any problems if you chrono with the higher fps (as you should), but end up playing with the lower fps configuration. No one can blame you if your gun shoots lower than the chrono paper says. I would still respect the higher fps safety distance. That way you are most certainly in the clear.
