THE GRAND CAMO THREAD!

Post by Burger » 19 Oct 2015, 03:06

Correct me if I am wrong, but would'nt it make a whole lot more sense if M84 and flecktarn would both appear on the red side?

First of all, look at them. (M84 is just flecktarn without the brown.)
Image

Even to the trained eye these can be difficult to distinguish at more than 10 meters. In the shade, its near impossible.

The only reason I see that M84 would be on the blue side, is that they are a koalition of nordic countries and M84 has its origin in Denmark, but even that reason is stretching it, as the danish forces are currently outphasing M84 and all soldiers being sent abroad are done so wearing Multicam.

Any comments?

Untrained eye here.

Can confirm, these patterns look really similar, especially if the shades of green are properly represented in those images.

Don't all players wear armbands? ;)

Seriously though, if you move M84 to the red, you might next argue about the possible confusion between CadPat and M84...

This is an endless swamp. And this will be my last post on this subject.

I can only aplaud the fact that the patterns are divided for balance, not to make sense.

They may look alike, if you only look at the pattern itself. But in reality the red/browns in flecktarn makes it look very different from M84. Image

M84 is very green, while flectarn is much more on the brown side, IMO.

JDOE suggested in an other tread that we should use two armband, one on each arm, and I support that ide very much. So it will be easier for untrained eyes in the misty shadow darkness of Nordmark forrest to see who I'm shooting at.
Peace in my sight.

Well I don't support the double armband idea. I don't want to Berget to change into somekind of video game where you shoot when reticle turns red. Correctly ID'ing targets and maintaining situational awareness is big part of the game.

M.Koho, I agree on a personal level (I would prefer no armbands at all), but since Berget is still a mix of all the walks of our fine hobby, some people seem to be very adamant about wanting to wear what they like and still be able to identify Friend from Foe.

Hence; double armband

EDIT;
- you could always exempt HC-milsim -units from both sides from this. But they would in turn be with VERY strict rules about camo, and just one armband. That would actually help with identifying people with different preferences too. I.e. Civilian LARP-players would easily identify players who like to just have fun and shoot around and those who might be interested more in the roleplaying side of things too.

I kindly ask the BE-Crew for clarifing.

I remember on 2013, there was the same confusion (or a mistake... ) and BE move the M84 camo to the red side.
My complete team play in M84 and we want to play on the red side as usual.
Its good to have the oppourtunity for buy cheap camo at side, but from my experiences one gear is not enough for the strong swedish forest :)

Please BE Crew, please give a short statement.
Many thanks in advance!

We will look into the camos overall before ticket release. Maybe we change some things maybe we don't. Just don't go buy a new uniform before ticket release. ;)

So, this time it's mainly "old camo" vs "modern, digital camo"?!

I'm assuming that russian "Spectre" belongs to "modern, digital camo" and so it can be used for NAF?!

But what about russian "Berezka" camo?:

I just emailed berget crew, and got the answer that I should look to this thread.
I would like to be on the blue side with my buddies and run the camo Pencott Greenzone. The nearest equivalent imo is digital flora.
The question is how BC interprets the matter?
