IMPORTANT: Changes to Chrono and Weapon classes
Hello!
We have news about how we will chrono this year, Including Joules and max bullet weights. We have also made a couple of Changes in weapon classifications.
http://www.berget-events.com/news
---
During the last years we have detected a decrease in respect for safety distance, especially in the support class. We implore all players to revise their minimal engagement distance and adjust their choice of weapon (class) accordingly.
Remember the choice of weapon and class is yours and your primary obligation is its safety distance, there is no excuse for transgressions. Safety in airsoft is crucial and therefore we need to apply some measures to adjust this problem.
This year we will update our weapon rules, improve our documentation of vehicles and we will force a highly visible identification of vehicles (two digit number on front doors). This will both help players and crew to identify players behaving outside the rules. All cases were compromised player safety is proven will have zero tolerance from us in crew.
We have rewarded bolt action snipers and heavy snipers, adjusted limits of small portable machineguns like the m249 para model and made some joule adjustments according to bullet weight.
You can download the new updated version of the rules here: http://www.berget-events.com/chrono2019.pdf

Re: IMPORTANT: Changes to Chrono and Weapon classes
Please explain the thoughts behind the M249 para not to make it a support class?
I really don’t get this idea.
The RPK47M is also a support class version, but also has a foldable stock.
And not to forget the RPKS (same deal also foldable.)
So, this should be banned also?

Re: IMPORTANT: Changes to Chrono and Weapon classes
Banned? certainly not. The question is if it's "max class" is 2 or 3. As the rules are now it belongs to class 2, as it's a compact version.GhostNL wrote: ↑13 Mar 2019, 10:13Please explain the thoughts behind the M249 para not to make it a support class?

this is a valid question you make though.
I'll describe the problem more in depth (reposted from FB):
If logic should be applied to this topic 7.62+ would be the limit for Class 3. But to many are invested in "lighter" models...
And if we don't draw a line we have a "meta" were every1 runs around with Krytecs...
That said, were would you draw the line?
So... were are happy to receive suggestions, if a better "line" are suggested we will change.

Re: IMPORTANT: Changes to Chrono and Weapon classes
A Clarification:
This change was made because a clear majority of support players have invested in M249 Para due to its light weight and short stock, it has been used as an assault weapon more than a support weapon with no real drawback ( its not much larger or heavier than any common assault weapon ) .
This had caused a large number of incidents with regards to safety distances. In an attempt to make it more safe, and to limit the number of high powered machineguns in the field, we moved the M249 from class 3 to class 2. The only difference is the safety distance and max Power of the weapon, it's in no way a banned weapon. You can still take advantage of the Box Magazine and the perks that come with that.
Since most players who use this weapon use it as an assault weapon, we belive that this change will impact VERY few players since most can continue use it as they normally do - Just with less Power. More safe, more fair.

Re: IMPORTANT: Changes to Chrono and Weapon classes
very difficult decision to made .. and yes you must draw a line !
my M249 para from CA has a weight fully loaded of about 7,2 KG
my LCT RPK what ,much longer, has about 4,5 KG so it can not be the weight
Most m249 has fast spring changeable so nobody run into big problems ..change spring to 130 and everything is ok.
I fear more the 4,2J Spring Sniper ... limit of 3 Joule is enough i think.
I have a Ares Striker with the big CO² kit ...takes up to 660fps i will never play with that beast !
For me BE is good with that changes ..see how it work 2019 and make changes if its neccesary.
I hope to see more pistol fights around the forts and houses that gives more safety to all

Re: IMPORTANT: Changes to Chrono and Weapon classes
Like I allready said on FB.
HMG should be HMG.
This rule is makes sure that the M249 para is banned from group 3. But other way lighter and more assault like replicas are still allowed in that group.
And again, don't get me wrong.
It is good to draw a line..
But draw one that's correct and logical.
HMG is still a HMG.
A M249 para or not is NOT an HMG.
A m60 IS an HMG.
The peshkeneg something is an HMG.
The RPK-16 is NOT an HMG.
And so on, so saying that the m249 para is almost as light as an normal m4 or AK is just wrong.
It's like stated above 2 or 3 times as heavy.
But okay, I allready pointed out on FB what the best line should be..
But the way it is now is just wrong and unfair when you start comparing.
This is not the way to level/balance this group.
It's the same as saying, that an Mp5 isn't placed in assault, because it is an submachine gun. So it can only be in class 1....
Realistic, yes.
But still we don't do it.

Re: IMPORTANT: Changes to Chrono and Weapon classes
I do agree with you 100% and I think many do. 7.62+ and nothing else should be HMG and Class 3. It's just the investment many has done for some LMGs like 249 to be a 2J gun... We have to think about it.

Re: IMPORTANT: Changes to Chrono and Weapon classes
I would love to have a clarification on the "DMR" class 4
Is a M16 with "acog" scope ok, or should it be more like SR25 or....
I fully undestand that a M4 is a NO GO, but a short list of what the dmr has to look like would be a huge help

Re: IMPORTANT: Changes to Chrono and Weapon classes
M16 is fine for Class 4. A 556 DMR should be built for range. Do I need to clarify more?

Re: IMPORTANT: Changes to Chrono and Weapon classes
Good update! Will be interesting to hear how you want to manage chrono at check in.
Also, out of curiosity. Since you seem to have taken drag into account. Have you done any studies to determine the drag coefficient of the BB or is it based on the theoretical value of a sphere?

Re: IMPORTANT: Changes to Chrono and Weapon classes
Hi
I assume an HPA vehicle mounted M2 BMG is Class 3 despite not having a full buttstock?
