It is not to late. Send a PM and a pic of the car to info@berget-events.com. Also make sure that you have all papers in order regarding the vehicle.

Well, obviously not.

I've got an question regarding an vehicle.

How does BE decide wich vehicles are armoured and wich are not?
I mean that when I will bring my "beast" into B8, i would like to know if I should do some (MORE) modifications to get it approved as an "armoured vehicle"?

Or what kind of a line are we taking on this subject?

Of course, the main reason for this, is that non armoured vehicles can be stopped by shooting onto drivers windshield etc, but armoured vehicle you can stop only by: engineers, AT-weapons, mines. (did I forget something, or have I misunderstood?)

Of course, if you drive a buggy etc it ain't got an armour for sure, but if you got more modified car or something?

A bit tricky.
Mounting the IR recievers costs and your vehicle must be a bit special or recemble an APC/AC/TANK to get this.
We had a limo last year as an "armoured car".
There should be IR-recievers for rent this year but to be "armoured" you have to get approval in good time.
Get back to this in february when administration is less swamped.
Mmh..

From the realistic viewpoint you shouldn't need any external mods, since modern armoured cars/trucks/4x4s look just like their "soft skinned" counterparts, yet they can take a heavy amount of small arms fire.

It would be nice to have armoured light vehicles (with special markings and the IR-sensor), but I think BE will say no...

If someone hasn't noticed, the vehicle rules have changed a bit after B7:
B8 Rules wrote:All vehicles ingame must be mounted with the BAVS 2.0 IR system (Berget anti vehicle system) this can be bought or rented from Berget.
So you have to have the IR system mounted to your vehicle, whether it´s armored or not.

No you dont have to do it on none armored cars. But it does help and give more realism to the game if you do :)

The way I read the rules all vehicles will be required to have the IR system. Hopefully BE can clarify, and provide price info about renting/ buying the set.

i belive it dont cost to mutch to buy your own system. the receivers i can manke at home by hand. The only thing that is needed is the unit.

And the unit wont take more space than a CD player. The receivers looks like small LED lights whit a reflector that collects the IR light directly to it.

I have asked BE the question about the vehicle system, and they told me aprox 35 euro per set to rent.

Well, the B7 rules didn't include the text I quoted from the B8 rules, so rules have changed and they should be read as they are written.

I can confirm. All vehicles will need the "Bavs" (Berget anti vehicle systems) the main difference between an armoured car and a ordinary vehicle is the hitpoints before the "dead signal". A usual car have 1 hp...

It will cost you a bit to rent or buy but if you dont like it, there is an option to leave your vehicle at home.

Maybe the Crew should make a notification of this matter to the B8 newspage, I bet that there are many players who have not noticed this.

Message received.

What does an installation of one unit "BAVS" cost?
How long does it take to install it?
Can the installation be done on site?
What has to be done in advance?

Greetings and have fun,
