The MRE stomach

Post by Spof » 03 Nov 2009, 23:34

Many players may think it is very handy and good with field rations and MRE´s. But it can easy get quite uncomfortable getting "the runs" (diarrhea) or you could be the super farter of your tent.

If you are not used to MRE´s and are using them the first time att Berget, there is a small trick to avoid the "MRE stomach". Just bring some thick fibre bread and eat one peace for each MRE. Not so special forces, but it will save you ass!

Good point Spof.

I remember a certain person that was eating MRE's all of B6... On our way back home to Holland we made a general stop for fuel and some food... We lost track of this person... He was gone for almost an hour... When he came back het told us he was at the toilet for all of that time...

Dang! I'm bringing some fibre bread when I'm out with the HomeGuard from now on. I think I knew about this in the back of my skull, I just didn't make the connection. But I love the suggestion!

I'm not bringing MRE to Berget though, I don't wanna end up having a stomach in turmoil even with the Fibre bread as a precaution.

MRE sucks, try instead REAL Turmat or DRYTECK as many in Norway call it. The best field food ever. http://www.drytech.no/ Sorry webpage in Norwegian.

From personal experience: Yes drytech rules!
Easy to prepare (just add (hot)water) and it tastes really good.

Although it does come with a price tag and it's cheaper to call for pizza. :P

Turmat is probably the best I've ever tasted when it comes to dryfood, but in Denmark it costs about 90 Norwegian kroner.... so I might try that online shop too ;)

Then you'll get all three meals, and the powersnacks.
