Feedback: * Berget dollars *

Post by Berget-events » 29 Jun 2009, 12:33

This year we tried to put less 1000 dollars in circulation atleast the first 2 days to awoid hyper-inflation and also having more things to buy / sell for the players.

I enjoyed the fact that everyone had the 200BD from the start, as opposed to last year. This way there was money everywhere. Last year my whole platoon in MERCS didn't even find out that there even WAS any money until two days into the game, so good job this year!

Well, Oscar 1 Alpha was always so damn busy with patrols and recon missions the whole event that I didn't get to spend a single Berget dollar. :(

Maybe next year.

It was by far not enough money! I know that creating a perfect balance is impossible, but I as Yuri's weapons dealer did not have anything to start with for the first two days and the tank I did have to sell couldn't be bought by anyone...
Shifting the "inflation" into last day did not much good, it hindered most of my deals initially.

Improvement?
Well, you need a finance minister, a GM that would only be concerned about money and trade in the game and that would have the authority to "pull out of the pocket" millions in order to balance the game or to make an end to game-stops caused by in-game money or rather the lack of it. I am not saying anyone should be given "federal aid" if they didn't bother to work for their business, I am saying the whole sitation needs monitoring and swift actions with additional "game-acquiring" missions if need be.

Money spending

Post by Bulow » 29 Jun 2009, 13:01

Technicly Orlow boys have not much chance to spend berget money as we were not allowed to come to the city by the NATO check points no matter we tried to arrange with them we put guns down. I would suggest to have an all acess to the city for everyone in order to spend in game money. We hade girls comming to the orlow camp only once.

I can agree with Brujo

We tried to sell drugs in Bashir on both thursday and friday, bot no one of the interested buyers managed to get the money.

I feel they are a great addition to the game but nobody from my company (Nato) had a chance to go to Bashir City until the party.

So with that in mind, the dollars were of absolutely no use to us and I still have every one of them.

Also, I don't think Nato should have to 'buy' AT weapons etc...

My 2 cents.

Sorry, my mistake.
Without using them I assumed Nato were under the same restrictions.

But I would not suggest removing them.
I think they can add a great dynamic to the game.

Bulow: You should have sneaked in, the Bashir Police would have welcomed your money. ^^
I might have given her the guns, but you gave her the ammo!

Loved them. Liked that we didnt get that much to start with, which meant we had to "acquire" more (as I wrote somewhere else, a casino heist solved that for us), but also that others were low on it at the same time. Bribed, payed and bought our way through the game, paying moles for information and photos, bribing cops to let us kidnap people in the city and hiding it from our captors. The money does a lot for the gameflow.

Yeah, the kidnapping was related to the drugdealing in Bashir. My team were the ones providing firesupport from the church when people on the barroof opened fire on the police bus. Had been prepping for the bust for abouot 5 hours in BC...

I was one of the civilian US Department of State guys in Bashir City and one of our main goals was to establish Bashir as the No-fire zone it was supposed to be. We were working with the mayor and all the different factions and as we finally achieved our goal on friday afternoon (it was a joy to see members of all factions walking about without hostile intent), the rogue NATO guys decided to attack the city. I don't know what smartass initiated that attack but hadn't that happened, maybe Bashir would have been a peaceful place at least friday afternoon through saturday, allowing for the economy to flourish.
