Folding stock AEG
Hi, this is probably a bit too late for this question, but here goes. I was reading a few posts, and someone was not happy with folding AEG's, and doesn't recommend this type of AEG be take to the games.
Since I use a folding stock AK series AEG, I was wondering if this was just one persons personal anecdotal experience with the folding stock AK.
So, from all of the folks who do use folding stock AEG, AK's, do you think this would be good to take, or go for a sold stock AK?

I think that comment on folding stock AEG's is based on an idea that a folding stock version is not capable to hold as big battery as a solid stock version. But I have a folding stock "AK" (G&G GK99 / RK95TP), battery is located in the front hand guard. I use LiPos so there is no problem, I can run the my gun a very long time with LiPos.

I used a 2300mAh lipo battery for B8 n' B9 and managed the whole game with it. My friend went with a 1600mAh lipo on B9 and he ran out 2h before game end (due to the lipo alarm)

I have folding stock on my G36 and on my other gun and I see no problem there. There is many possibilities where you can put your battery.
And about the battery it self, I had 1600 mAH LiPo (7.4v, 20c) at B9 with lipo alarm and I could play with that same battery power on weekend game after Berget...
It is totally up to that how much you shoot during game.

Sometimes those LiPo alarms go off due to the current peak. At least the cheaper ones. After you stop shooting the alarm will be quiet and the cell voltages are ok. I'm not saying that this is what happened to your friend, but I have seen it happen many times.Hazardous wrote:I used a 2300mAh lipo battery for B8 n' B9 and managed the whole game with it. I had a folding stock AEG last year and it was no problem. just bring spare batteries and a charger (just in case...my 9.6 NiMH lasted the whole event). The folding stock has definetly some advantages when it comes to fighting in confined areas or when you are transported in a vehicle.

As you can read, Blackwidow, you can bring it - I might too, for I use one AK with folding stock as well.
But why did the original poster advise not to bring it?

That is why I only use the alarm in base to check my LiPo, then remove it. Then it won't give away my position in the woods. And if I notice that my rate of fire starts going down, I just change my battery just in case.Hawkins wrote:I am the friend in question. You are correct Windi^. But mine started to give a constant warning sound, indicating that the battery was running out. I sometimes have the problem you described Windi^. Gives out your positions quite well.
