Chest Rigg or Vest?
Chest Rigg or Vest?
What do you prefer? Chest riggs or vests? Modular or tactical? And what kind of pouches do you mount?

I prefer modular chest riggs, but I use an old A.L.I.C.E. carring sistem, the little rucksack is very useful and it allows you to run well...

A took option "tactical vest" beacuse i like the brittish Gen Ops vest and thats pretty much a tactical vest och battle coat, waist coat whatever.
but i use my PLCE Webbing moore so an option for that kind of webbing would have been nice.

I'v decided to buy this one :
"EPHOD" / IDF Vest - V2
http://begadishop.com/catalog/product_i ... ts_id=4023
I have already played several times with it and i'm very satisfied.
I can load ammo,food,mags e.t for 48h.
I was with some similar to this one on B8.

If one is choosing a tacical vest or something like it, there are a few points you should consider.
- comfort of wear
- weight
- essential storage
- not too many straps, belts and things that make it difficult to adjust and
make you catching on bushes and scrubs.
- how does it allow you laying down ?
- what is it like in the rain ? Is it going to be extremely heavy ?
- does it hamper your movements ?
- is it easy to get on and off ?
Do not choose it for looks but for usefulness.

Chestrig and small backpack, like camelbak HAWG is my choise. Chestrig for magazines and small essential stuff, HAWG for water and other small extra items like spare batteries/snacks/first aid kit/reload BB's and even a small raincoat/poncho. I have been using this combo in 4 Bergets now and for me, it works.
HAWG is easy to remove if in vehicle, big enough for small necessary items and small enough not to stick out when laying down. And water is in the same pack!
I would also not use any thigh mounted equipment if you are going to do much walking (and in BE games you usually do), since those tend to chafe your legs. Same goes with kneepads. At least for me. Also thigh holsters etc tend to pull the belt (either the belt of your trousers or belt of your carrying equipment) and make the use of thigh stuff irritating.
KISS is the best way to go. Not too much stuff on your vest/rig/backpack. Think twice if the stuff you are carrying is really necessary. Or do you really need 15 mags etc.

I had that "Ephod" real deal for 3 years, best one ever. At least the one made for the IDF.
Got the Camelbak Delta 5 vest, very light and comfortable.
6 open top mag pouches on the left, 6 40 mikemikes pouches and one medium util' on the right, nothing on the back but radio on skirmish but thre's a lot of molle space over there so you can fit whatever you want.

Yust a little tip: if possible AVOID velcro straps, they are noisy!
It's like shouting "Hey all people, I'm out of ammunition you can charge me now!"

That's why i play with the Ephod.
Only one thing i don't like in the Ephod :
-The weight, when is fully loaded it's heavy damn it
Modular Vest in I do normall infantry work.
Modular chest rigg if I am working out of a vehicle or doing low-profile work.
Plate Carrier for CQB work is the way I roll.
What you use is up to the job that you need to do, if you only need some mags and not much more there is no point in running a big badass vest or armorcarrier when you can go low profile and just bring as litle as posible.
