Ive spent some time and looking through all the posts, its a lot to process as I know next to nothing about radios but I found that I really could have used one on Berget 13 with my friends so this year I really want to be prepared in that department.
What would someone recommend that is at a decent price for a 7 to 8 man team for both group communications and HQ communications? Also for a first time radio user something not too complex but would allow for messing around with when I understand it better in the future. Thanks in advance

Wouxun KG699e 400-470mhz UHF radio. Its not the cheapest one, but the build quality is good, comes with Kenwood plug, and good battery life. Screen makes it easy to use.

Re: Example of sutable Radios
Hello all,
Are the required frequencies/ channels for each side going to be released at the individual team forums prior the event?
This would be quite helpful cause we need to set up our radios via PC in advance!

Team specific frequencies are usually posted on the team forums before the event.
The LPD channel bit of the thread below is the one you should look at, as those frequencies have been in use since I started coming to the events.
