sending gear by mail

I would prefer an answer from someone with experience and outside of the EU.
Long story short, I am sending my gear via post and upon returning from berget as well. When it returns my dear customs office in Croatia will most definately try and tax it, are their any documents or something I can get from the organizers or anyone else that confirm the quantity of my gear so I dont have to go through this nightmare???
