Okay, up until now I thought this guy was... driven, let's say, a ruthless terrorist who tries to force his twisted view of how the world should look upon everyone else - but now he's gone completely overboard! This guy is completely mad!

I can see how he'd call himself everyone's 'worst nightmare leader'. Up until now I was thinking that assuming the name of 'Lobo' made no sense, since the original wolf 'Lobo' loses his battle (all Lobo does is kill some cattle, and when the farmers come after him and his pack, and even capture his partner, he has to flee into the wilderness where he won't come anywhere close civilization again - a touching movie, by the way) - but this guy doesn't seem to need any sense at all!

On a sidenote, every second or third 'farmer of Lerando' here just seems to be a UA17 propaganda activist. Seriously, claiming the UA17 will kick out both the GCT and the Ravens? I imagine the actual farmers of Lerando might be busy trying to stay alive, so they probably won't have the time to talk about things at all - in the UN security council decision to send the GCT to Lerando, the UA17 threat was hardly even mentioned. I watched it on TV when they announed it, and it was all "Ravens and drugs, Ravens and guns, Ravens murdering civilians, Ravens making trouble on the border to Guyana and Suriname, and oh, yeah, we also found out there seems to be a cell of those bombing UA17 freaks there, so we thought we'd wipe that off in the same go". I dug out one of the articles on the UN resolution, and they didn't even put UA17 in there.

"GCT Travel Service - Travel to unknown lands, meet unkown people and send them to hell"

You come to a country that is not at war with anyone, in order to support a government that is allready long overdue for retirement, ready to kill or "nuke" anything and anyone who gets in your way.
This guy's got a point, though - up until the point where he goes for the old Vietnam 'US soldiers, why do you think you are here?' slogan. I mean, for once they're sending troops to a country and you don't have to suspect it's just to secure oil pipelines or exploit the country in another way afterwards - Lerando and the world went along well pretty much ignoring each other for the past few decades, and there is nothing really in Lerando that business bigshots could exploit once the country is 'theirs'.

In a way, Lerando - or at least the Ravens - did start a war by flooding the rest of the world with drugs, guns and by killing tens of thousands of innocents. If you ask me, it's clear that Lerando has problems, problems it can't solve for itself, and problems that are starting to strongly affect the rest of the world as well.

But MrMedic is still right in one thing: In the entire public discussion so far, it was always only about the military side. They're only sending an army of soldiers, and nobody seems to care about how to rebuild the country after the war - I don't blame the GCT, they are only soldiers and that's what their sent for, but macho slogans like that don't make it any better. After all, that's why they sent the GCT, and didn't let the US cowboys go in and gun everyone down.

On that topic, they confirmed a few days ago that that one German Commander from GCT is going to Lerando as well:

Personally, I think Richter is an asshole. Dunno if you followed the incident in Georgia back then, but this guy had the guts to stand in the media afterwards and say it was 'necessary military security procedure' to hold a completely uninvolved camera team from the US and their local guides at gunpoint and even shoot one of the men in front of the others when he tried to get away. I know they found proof that the guy was actually connected to the terrorists and was planning something later, but this ice-cold "we're soldiers, we're here to shoot the bad guys, and caring for people's rights and what becomes of the people is not our job" attitude is what's wrong with the entire operation, and the politicians are doing nothing to cough up a few bucks to make sure Lerando people can rebuild their lives and their country after all the "bad guys" have been killed.

You've probably not been following political events for the past years. This is not the usual "oh, we should do something, at least write a stern letter of protest" kind of resolution. The security council has empowered the GCT to conduct a full military operation and practically declared Lerando a legitimate warzone; since the UN global anti-terror act (GATA) in '07, the UNSC has gained a lot more aggressive power, and has been made the supervisory organ over the then newly-founded GCT - so they're the only ones who decide if GCT goes or not, and they decided that GCT is going to Lerando.

And in those six years since their founding, GCT has run quite a numer of successful operations against global terror. For all I know, piracy in South Africa has all but ceased after the GCT Namibia-Angola campaign, and the leader of the Georgian Rose Lion terrorist group Andrej Cherchev and almost all of his network's cells have been obliterated. I know they didn't do more than scrape the iceberg in Algeria, but all in all, they have a pretty neat military success statistic (as said before, I'm not saying that the political aftermath was great after the GCT was through, because the UNSC cares about security and not about rebuilding or how people can get on with their lives...)

Dunno where you're getting the multiple personality from, but yeah, I hope they won't put him in charge of any contact with civilians in Lerando...

Oh, so when a bunch of old statists in an office far away, men whom we NEVER EVEN GOT TO VOTE OUT OF OFFICE, decided it's alright to declare our land a warzone, we're supposed to just accept it?

F* that.
You GCT authoritarian bullies can get the hell out of our turf. We don't want none of your bullshit around here, and we dont want to hear about what your UN masters have decided. It does not concern us.

When one country supply rest of the world with drugs, it becomes everyones problem. The UN wouldn't send a globalized force for putting a stop to the drug traffic if you would have kept your drugs inside your own borders.

Bullshit goes out, "bullshit" goes back in... in force.

Well, if the UN fixed the people who DEMAND the drugs in the first place, the good folks of Lerando wouldnt have to produce it would they? The so called "drug problem" has no real roots in Lerando. GCT is biting it's own ass in this campaign. The problem lies elsewhere, so keep :wank: capitalists!

"Guns don't kill people, people kill people", eh? Interesting how one blames capitalism, and the other argues by the means of it. Still, that argument is like dropping a can of Ebola in a subway train and blaming the passengers if they become infected...

We're a free people, and some freely choose to use drugs and get weird ideas in their heads that the socialist GCT is actually capitalist :P

And no, your ebola-argument does not hold water. You don't get accidentally infected by drugs, it's a choice people make on their own. And for those who wish to do that stuff, you can't get more bang for your buck than with the new Night Raven(tm) hallucinogen. Buy one, get one for free!

I have never seen an UN resolution that gives a couple of mercanaries like GCT the right to fall into a peacefull country like Lerando !
Yes we have some problems here ..to feed all our citizens and get our childrens a place to learn and grow up but here is no breaking the human right and we do not attack other countries ...!

I know you will control our oil, diamond mines and rare earth places .. but we will stand as one man and kick you out of our beloved country !

Now i have to unpack my old AK and reload it .. im prepared !
