RADIO INTEL CHANNEL = proposal

Post by grasulas » 06 Jun 2016, 19:26

During Berget 8, 9 and 10 Poldavian HQ had one frequency for INTEL traffic and in some urgent moment’s orders or sitreps. That was the only time and I mean, THE ONLY TIME HQ channel had value for my squad, every single recon squad reported enemy movement on that channel, all major contacts have been reported on that channel. No bullshit relaying from one unit to another, no chit chat with useless information ONLY INTEL, intel that give my unit the edge, the necessary information to realize what is situation, in real time, in the field.

That intel motivate my man`s to go one step further, one extra mile, one more hour guarding some shitty tactical point because they knew if that point falls other friendly units will be in deep shit.

Gentlemen’s, glorious leader, please, I BEG YOU create this channel and give access from platoon leader above, make all recon elements report intel directly to this channel, make all platoon leaders and coy commanders report major contacts there, we can all benefit from that intel.

Yes the traffic could be intercept it, just wait a second and think the benefits vs the risk, all the enemy can know is that we are aware of his movements, that we have some units in an area or that we are fighting them in some spot. What’s the point in keeping location of a major battle secret from radio comms, the enemy is already there fighting you, do you think they care less if they know what unit they are fighting or not.

I agree that missions and sensitive information should be sent ONLY via Whatsapp but the rest of the information move it on radio, what is the point in having a HQ frequency if we are not using it actively? Remember the worst killer in an airsoft game is the moral of the players and nothing kills the moral of an airsoft player like the lack of information with the game status.

Impression that nothing is happening, that no one is fighting, that you are alone and HQ doesn’t give a shit about you’re struggle will make people go AWOL, remember whatsapp should be kept to minimum people, need to know bases, the rest of the players will be clueless and not always company commanders have time to relay them what is the over all situation, please give platoon leader the necessary tools to motivate the squads, to lead them effective and professional.

If you don’t agree with me it`s ok I can`t force you to be right :P.

So If I understand it right you want a channel with all the PL and CC on it from every Comp ? Wont this be too crowded ?

No, it will be a channel that command elements can use to feed intel directly back to HQ.

Also my first berget.

Is there any Chance the enemy will listen in on our radio? In that Case a Intel Channel great risks.

Not really a risk. Read the first post.

I think this is a great idea, as long as it's kept a one way street from recon to HQ.

You should always be prepared for the possibility that the enemy is listening to radio comms.

Not really, no. :D

It was more meant towards the other channels, not the intel one.

It does. In direct battle not that much, but with recon elements in play, knowing what the enemy knows has a lot of information. In real protocols, the only clear speech radio information should be direct orders and intel while in contact and fire missions.

Perhaps some code language would be wise to consider? Developed by HQ and disclosed to recon on site obviously.
