Semi Auto DMR limits

Post by k3nn3th » 30 May 2019, 17:55

Is DMR's limit to 30 rounds per mag?

And is max weight under 0.40g BBs?

Code: Select all

MAGAZINES
In general, all magazines must be lo-cap (no more than 100 rounds). There are no restrictions on the number of magazines you may carry. Highcaps and midcaps with capacity over 100 are strictly forbidden. If you have a weapon where lo-caps are unavailable, mark your magazines with blue tape saying "RAL" and load no more than the limits above.

* Sniper weapons are limited to max 30 rounds.

To summarize: Standard: Max 100 rounds/mag. Snipers: Max 30 rounds/mag.
Light Support Weapon (KAC LMG, Stoner mk23, L86,HK23, MG36, G36 etc) : Max 500 rounds/mag. Drum or box mag. Support Weapon (RPK, PKM, M240, M249, M60, MK43, Mg3): 3000-5000 round/mag. Drum or box mag.

So according to the rules semi-auto DMR's can have up to 100 rounds in a magazine and maximum allowed BB weight is 0.43g.

SNIPER RIFLES
If you want to play as a sniper your gun must look like a sniper rifle with scope, no mp5/uzi/m4/ak47 etc with scope is allowed as sniper.

Semi-snipers are allowed to be tuned to max class 3 (see list above) Bolt action snipers are allowed to be tuned to class 5-8 (see list above)

NOTE! Semi-snipers Barrett, OSV-96, AR-50, CheyTac 50 BMG etc are allowed to be tuned up to class 6.
Following the wording of the rules, the 30 round limit is for actual snipers, so your DMR falls under the same magazine capacity as an assault rifle.

It depends if you use it as a Sniper or Assault rifle, based on the Power of the weapon.

If you have it to sniper Power , the limit is 30. If its lower, its an assault rifle.

If its just set to 2J(140m/s in old limit) with semi only then you should be able to use 100 round mags. Thats how its been interprebefore.

woops,, was reading the old section. Its 0,43 as Archangel says

Class 4 Marksman - Bolt or semiautomatic rifles
Max Joule : 2,0J
Min safety distance : 15M
Firemod allowed : Semi
Muzzle Speed allowed : 141 M/S

Must be properly locked to semi
Bolt or semiautomatic rifles Semiautomatic rifles and bolt rifles.

- For Class 4, 5 & 6 your gun must look like a sniper rifle with scope,
no mp5/uzi/m4/ak47 etc with scope is allowed as sniper.

* Sniper weapons are limited to max 30 rounds.
This last one im unsure of as far as semi rifles go. Is it considered a sniper or a rifle if it's semi(DMR)?

No, max is 0,36g BBs in class 4
The revamped rules for 2019 state clearly otherwise. Maximum allowed BB weight is stated as 0.43g, it does not state anywhere that class 4 can only use up to 0.36. I would find this odd too, considering all the safety distances have been calculated with 0.43g in terms of Joules output.

A confirmation by Berget would be great. And bio BB is the best BB, let's that make sure

As you said, max weight is from the old rules and is only presented in the new rules document as an reference.

Let's agree to disagree. But considering you can use 100 rounds as a DMR, it's all good.

You're not looking correctly. The title of that table clearly states 'old rules'.

You ought to look in the above table and the notes section.

.43 maximum allowed BB weight.
