I buy my boxes of 12 US MREs from ebay, good prices and not too shabby shipping if you can find one on the UK ebay (well, thats for me at least, people further away from the US or UK might have to pay a more substantial amount...)

But then again, I'm prob. going to buy the boxes of MREs when I'm visiting in the states, and then just bing them back to Sweden in my luggage...

If your MRE includes the water activated heater (frh). Technically it might not be allowed in checked baggage or carry-on.

The actual risk is hard to judge. But its wise to check with your airline.

We use lithuanian MREs. About 3 Euro, less chemicals:) Meat with grain, water heater, chocolate, honey or jam, coffee or tea or chicken boullion, matches, wet towel (perfect for removing camo make-up), vitamine drink, nuts, dry fuel tablets with support for a kettle.

I did a little more research, and found the following;

http://www.quartermaster.army.mil/aces/ ... aug02.html

States that MRE containing the FRH can be taken as checked baggage or carry-in, as long as its in the original MRE bag (unopened)

Is there any chances to buy lithuanian MREs?
From now on, we each carry our own shit.

We have Trangias, so we can pretty much cook anything. We can even make pizza.

Usually we use dry meals, in witch you add water, and boil for a few minutes. And those are relatively cheap. 1,50€ for a meal for two people.

And for quick snacking on the field we have knäckebröd and canned tuna.

Our team will eat Wildlife packets, as said before you only add hot water and you get hot food in 5 mins... comes in a alot of different flavors and even a selection of veggie ones.

Can be found in most outdoor shops in sweden at least, altho the prices can vary quite alot.

The jetboil is really cool. I saw them recently for around 800 SEK in stores in STHLM.
