Sleeping in tents

Tents are for people, not gear. Bring a ground sheet/tarp/pressning to store your gear outside the tent using that for protection from the elements. Inside the tent should be you and your sleeping gear.

Sleeping
"All facilities will be pre-built by Berget-crew, you will get a spot in a military tent/ shelter along with your teammates. All players shall sleep in base-areas. There wont be any off-game sleeping area.

To awoid the risk of theft, we recommend that your team store objects of value in a large wooden box with a lock outside the tent. These can be rented from Berget-events. Just email info@berget-events.com if you are interested.

If you want to sleep outside the game-area (in hotel/hostel or camping etc). You must report this to your base commander before the game starts."

I would say renting one of these is a good idea; Berget-events: What are the dimensions? what is the cost?

h^2 = a^2 + b^2 <=> h = SQR (a^2 + b^2)

=> h = SQR (120^2 + 60^2) <=> h = SQR (14400 + 3600) <=>

<=> h = 134,2 cm (aprox.)

So yes! You can pack your gun in it! :P

Best regards

I would like to add one important thing regarding this topic.

Last year (Berget 8.) was a very rainy event, and most peoples
gear got soaked. Luckily all the military tents had heaters,
and Berget Event was nice enough to provide us with firewood.

But I have to warn you from experience that those heaters
should never be left unattended while being hot.

During my military service, we constantly slept in military tents
and during that period we had several incidents where the grass
around the heater caught on fire. This even happened during
winter time. One tent even burned down together with a lot of gear.
Luckily no one was inside.

So if you are going to use a tent heater, please follow these
simple rules.

1. Make sure to clear out the area around the heater.

2. Only use real firewood in the heater. Other wise you might
risk sending away sparks through the chimney.

3. Make sure the heater stands on stable ground.

4. Never leave the heater unattended while it's hot.
The heater can ignite stuff on the ground when you
least expect it.

5. If your team have recently used the heater, and you are the
last person leaving the tent make sure the fire inside the heater
is completely put out. Pour water into the heater.

6. If your team are using the heater during the night, make
a schedule and take turns being a fire watcher. As a fire
watcher get out of the sleeping bag, or else there is a big
risk of falling a sleep :)

We in NAF 23rd only had one heater. So it ended up with people making huge fires around the camp.

Last year in the 5th NAF i have a nice memory of being woken for my firewatch in the drying tent and sitting in the quiet pre-dawn, contemplating the event so far whilst being snug and warm. It was a good chance to have a bit of time to myself in the midst of all the chaos.

You can sleep in a hammock within the perimeter of the base camp?
