Ticks are extremly common on islands and location near water.
As mention earlier ,the long term effects can be serious.
And infections caused by ticks can lead to Chronic fatigue syndrome (ME)
But if you are afraid of animals you shouldnt persue a Airsoft game held in location such as Berget... The forest. :?
Buy Djungelolja, a sweedish bug repelant. Works like a sharm.

Härnösand should be too far north for it to be much of an issue, though.

By entering the woods, we enter their homes. They simple protect themself. They only attack if you provoke them. I saw some dead snakes this year, someone decapitated them. It sure pissed me off. All non-swedes and all who feel unsure should read up on "Allemansrätten" More about in the rules of Berget.

Swedish law says that killing a protected species can get you convicted to imprisonment for up to two years. According to swedish law you can be placed under citizens arrest by anyone whitnessing a crime where the sentence can be imprisonment.

FYI I will practice that right. If you can´t respect the nature.... stay out of it.

There are a few items you will have to observe if you are to carry out a citizens arrest.
- to prevent iminent crime
- no police available in calling distance
- to prevent danger to others
- no possabillity to identify the person breaking the law
- person trying to leave the scene of crime
this paragraph of citizens arrest is a very tricky one and can get you into trouble. There is a lot more to it then meats the eye. If you are able, for instance to establish the persons details i.e. ID, you can not arrest him.

Swedish law differs from german law in this respect:

https://lagen.nu/1942:740#K24P7

Lag (1987:1211).
Literally; If a crime has been commited for which imprisonment is a possible punishment, and the suspect is fleeing, anyone may arrest him. The arrested person should be handed to the nearest policeman.

And I have now taken this thread further off topic!

Not according to Swedish law Ober-Lix. There are only a few attributes that needs to be fullfilled to make a citizens arrest in sweden.

1. The crime committed can get the perpetrator sentenced to imprisonment. (E.g. common crimes like shoplifting and vandalism.)
2. You have to whitness the crime being commited by the perpetrator.
3. If the perpetrator flees the scene of the crime, you can only make the citizens arrest if the pursuit has been "continuous". (E.g. the arrest is no longer available if you need to start searching for the perpetrator.)

I see no further use in discussing Swedish law. I only want to emphasise the gravity in obeying Swedish law and respecting the nature while at Berget.
Killing endangered species is very bad publicity for airsoft. :/

Common sense, a good portion of responsibility, and respect of the nature should do the trick.

Hi Guys!! I've got another (hopefully useful) tip, dont pack a tick removal set but instead take a q-tip (the things to clean your ears) and use this to circle around the tick = the tick loses its grip in the skin and can be flicked/stoked of. The problem with ticksets are that if you don't get an proper grip you'll probably rip the body off and the head will remain lodged in your skin and this will cause an infection. :(

i found "homeade tick removal sets" the best. cut a V into an old credit card or something like that and remove the tick with it. for me it works better than a comercial tick removal set.
