Taking 10.000 hits...

Post by WhiteAce » 04 Nov 2009, 00:11

Under many circumstances there will be "large" skirmishes on the battle fields of Berget games. In some cases it involves several hundreds of players!

In such cases it will not always be clear that a person is hit or not and you will be shot over and over again and the fastest way to stop this shooting is by standing up and start shouting at those people, while calling them names... It happens.... and indeed the shooting stops :|

Yet it is not the apropiate way! Read the rules!
"This is avoided by raising and waving with a "wounded-flag"

RAISE that flag ASAP after being hit and you'll avoid as much anoying BB's as possible.
It is the first rule explained in the rule section of the Berget 8 website... There is a very good reason for that!
Berget 5: 2IC Spetsnaz.
Berget 6: CoyCO NATO Golf coy.
Berget 7: PtnCO 2nd platoon 2nd coy
Berget 8: 3rd Rangers Battalion:
Berget 10: Co of NAF forces

Something I noticed in B7 was people not holding their wounded flag visible, but instead they waved it when they got shot, but then lowered it so it couldn't be seen, and when they were shot again they would wave it furiously as if it was obvious they were shot. This resulted in a lot of unnecessary shooting and confusement on who is wounded and who is not. This could have been prevented if people would have kept the flag on their head or wherever is most visible ALL the time, not just when being fired at.

Just that those vests made me wonder, if some people were part of BE or not. You did see people with orange vests taking pictures and stuff...

But anything is better than no wound flag at all!

Yes, better than nothing!
I think, yellow or orange - Don´t shoot!!!
Without colour and weapon - Don´t shoot, but be carefull!!!
If you need BE, ask "vest-men" for BE or CREW.
Everybody off-game might know where the crew are!

It is said (some other topic) that YELLOW vest is for Berget Crew and ORANGE are for players...

.. still it says in RULES that everyone should have ORANGE dead-rag.. I don´t get it ´why people think they can go solo on these thing. Sure, red vests etc. are good, but should be used only in addition to orange dead-rag.

In all the previous Berget games I have participated (5-7) there have always been unclear situations regarding dead-rags. Sometimes players had wannabe-Rambo style red bandanas or red berets etc... how the hell can you tell when something is accessory or a dead-rag? Then on occasion these guys with vests are lying in the brush with only their heads visible.. how can tell if they are dead or not? If you shoot them all hell breaks loose "Capito tutto alla pollo vecchio ceccio we are already shot FU FU"..

All this because people can´t comprehend a simple rule regarding orange dead-rag. If you have time, money and effort to show up in the game all the latest tactical gear with tech-savvy names it should be impossible to bring a stupid rag.

We who work on Berget use yellow vests with text on them telling you guys if we are GM or Security or whatever.

Orange is for players who are dead, photographers and our henchmen.

A deadrag is enough but you could complement this with a "deadvest". Dont forget the deadrag/cap/boonie since its often the only thing visible when you are on the ground where you should be when you have been shot.

Hope this clears things up.
