The reason we went offgame and drove off was because one of our pickups got broken into and one of our guys lost some pretty valuable equipment. He was absolutely heartbroken and out of respect for him we couldn't possibly continue the game. Oh, and I wouldn't say we dropped like flies. The orange flags came up when we went offgame.

Ooh, sorry about the loss... I was really wondering why you guys were just walking around them pickups... it did seem like you didn't mind the game at all...

Still, good fun while it lasted :)

Last year some stuff were stolen from the tent of a norwegian/swedish(?) team at camp NATO... Do not leave anything of considerable value unattended, the reason why I always carry a small backpack to the field.

With 1000+ people from 25 countries some players ought to be thieves. :(

My berget preferred remembers....

Post by mmilia » 06 Jul 2009, 14:27

Just this 3 flashbacks:

1) repelling orlov's attack on NATO Camp , returning fast from mission path and than disabling REDFLAGGED pickup parked just aside of our checkpoint

2) while in posture of an hidden observer in a crosstrail , transmitting information about traffic on the road to my Sierra2 Squad engaged in a checkpoint NATO outside BASHIR and i was very luckily to capture without shooting but only by shouting a team of 5 milos tigers.
My best apologize to these guys but they took an excellent roleplayng surrendering and following me to my squad.

3) The Attack on the NATO camp the last day , i was in ambush posture with nearly 80 men of lima company from the 08.45 am. outside the boundaries of our camp.
Artillery fire on NATO camp was impressive. I do not understand why red attackers not to managed to flank me , i was the last man of lima formation.

See not the next year , but probably in 2011.

My best moment!

It was on friday night when we (NATO, Oscar coy) was going to secure a crossroads near the SRP base. Well, it turned in to a nice firefight. That night the NATO motto, "smile and wave boys....", became the NATO WARCRY!!!

You could hear trought forrest:
"Smile and wave RATATATA boys... just RATATATATATA smile and wave RATATATATATA"

I laughed so much that i cried... then I continiued the shooting...

One of my best memories from the game has to be the firefight at the NATO base checkpoint.

My groups were acting as QRF element inside our FOB. Suddenly we got a distress call from one of our units "--- SPAM !!! --- to all units, we're under attack outside NATO base, vehicle down, man down, need assistant now". We jumped inside our vehicle, grabbed a pair of fresh mags and pulled out in a hurry. Entering the checkpoint in about five minutes. We had two or three vehicles down and a bunch of both our guys and nato guys wounded. Put our vehicle in front of the rest for cover and started healing our wounded (and NATO soldiers). Not wanting to shoot any of the NATO guys we made sure where the rounds where coming from and from who. Looked like we had reds on both our left and right flank. Then our gunner shouted the we had fire inbound "WE'RE TAKING FIRE, CAN I FIRE BACK?". Our TL replied "GIVE EM HELL!" and that machinegun started going medieval on their ass. Sounded darn sweet.
We got most of our troops back in the fight and mmmm that sure was a sweet and intense firefight. After clearing most of the NATO entrance from enemies we started to take heavy fire from our right flank and rear.

Great work NATO, you sure fucked us up good. Even fucked up the NATO guys we had help and were fighting inside our lines. So much blue on blue going on. After that we had NATO guys bragging about how they shoot the guys around the vehicles.

No hard feelings, we got the best action ever.

My best moment was the neckshot I gave to a NATO gunner.

We were on patrol to the MH, when we ran into a NATO Convoy of 3 car's.
We reacted by jumping into a ditch and pretending we were not there,
too bad they opend fire. :x And we looked for cover.

When they passed I stoot up and shot a few rounds on to the last cars back gunner.
It looked like he had been stung by a big ass mosquito.

Yes that was my best moment. :D

That one would of been a nice thing to see...

One act i really enjoyed was when some Israelis attacked and their warcry was "FOR MICHAAAAAAAEEEEEL JAAAAAAACKSOOOOON!".

I was like "WTF?" and started laughing my ass off, then i heard about his death and thought it was really nice that hommage.

Smile and Wave Boys... Just Smile and Wave.

The part when you said the gunner said "Can i fire back!" made me think of Black Hawk Down.

Fisto wrote:My greatest moment was when our platoon was ordered to assault a NATO roadblock on the big intersection near our base (same battle as per atlazes description). Our unit advanced very close to the evil natodudes and attacked.
We ran round them inflicting casualties all over the place, but were routed a little later by a NATO unit that shamelessly assaulted us from the rear. I was on point when that happened and since our unit scattered and withdrew, I was left alone amidst the enemy. Must have made a world record crawling performance when the decadent western imperialists were running amok just a couple of meters in front of me.
When I was just about to make my escape, a lonesome NATO medic almost walked on me and I yelled "Youre dead natoman, i dont dare shoot you this close!"

My gun shoots around 140m/s so it was a shivalrious thing to do. The guys face was somethíng that i will take with me to the grave!

And to all the fighters in the finnish contingent: ÄYRÄPÄÄ!
Yeah i remember that allright, you gave me quite a scare there.
Thanks for not shooting me BTW. 140m/s from like 2 meters would have hurt like hell

That is actually one of the B7 moments i will always remember.
And you really deserved that kill also

In other great moments on my part i think the Tank assault on nato base is quite high up there. i had just left my squad and returned to camp after a 4 hour guard duty with no action to get some food and a painkiller for my headache, not been back 5 minutes when i heard someone shouting TANK!!!!!

The fight outside SRP base was also fun untill Fisto "shot" me efcourse :P

And the bashir city fight in saturday, had a great run with 1 kill and 5-6 heals. Got taken out by a SRP guy whit an RPK from 3 meters, really hurt but was still fun
Really enjoyed playing Medic during this game and i might consider that next year as well.

Nato base defence with 2 MG3`s tearing up the woods.
The sound of them walkin side by side fireing was amasing.

Last but not LIMA
Had a few fights where i ended up away from my team and right in the middle of LIMA company
It was actually really fun being in the middle of those guys runnind aroun shooting at anything that moves.
And there was no risk of them team killing me either.
Say what you want about those crazy Italians but they came there to have fun and believe me they had a lot of fun to.
Much love guys, but please try to watch the friendly fire next year

My best moment:

When india coy took control of BC before attacking tigers' base - we decided to hit the casino.

For that purpose we staged a phantom attack from the hill on the east - where we all started shouting "enemy contact" and started a run to the hills which caused others to run with us and gave our guys a nice window of oppertunity to rob the casino.

Funny thing is after we ran after ghosts for 100 meters up the hill and the guys joining us with the loot - an actual SRP patrol started shooting at our force so our phantom contacts became real and no one suspected foul play :P

The loot wasn't very big tho :P

So many memories, so little space to write in... :P

* Telling the priest how good catholics we were, praying to God every day at breakfast, lunch, dinner, and all the time in between... ;P

* Getting a whole bunch of NATOguys to take that crucial step out of the wardrobe and admit to themselves and each others and everyone around in Bashir C that they were all gay. XD

* The excitement when we learned that we were going to SRP base after all - IN A LIMO! And then the dissappointment when Bashir C was under attack -again- and the limo drove off without us.

* Trying to get Appleboy to buy my service in church, ending it all with knocking him unconcious next to the door, saying things like "He's my brother, he's ill and needs to sit down!" as Appleboy is collapsing against the wall. I rob him of all his money (allthough he does get back at me for that later on :P) and then leave him there.

* Buying two apples for 10 B$ from the Appleboy, selling them for 20 B$ and then go rub it in his face. Lovely. ^^

* Seeing how Saint escorts our bodyguard Castor to the police station with a huge sledgehammer over his shoulder. Realising what was about to happen to Castor and not being able to do anything to stop it, and then afterwards help him to lay down next to the church while me and Kirsti cared for him in our own special way.

* Finding Natasha and Kirsti laying in the church, both unconcious. I walk outside to find Pap's and tell him about it, and what do I see? All three of the remaining people in our little group lies in a pile in the middle of the square unconcious! After a while they all wake up, and that's when we realise that someone's stolen half of the money Pap's had on him.

That's but a fraction of all my memories, and I'll definitely come back next year to gain new ones together with you all ^^
