In-game test firing: how to handle it

Post by vinni » 25 Jul 2011, 15:05

Maybe a bit of a small topic to start a thread for, but i think it might help.

Over the years, I've seen (and taken part in) a few cases where an entire platoon started a reaction to contact, only because someone failed to announce they were doing testshots.

Fuckups like these are so easily avoided, yet not everyone thinks of announcing their shots.
Ask the permission of your immediate superior first (he might say no for sound discipline reasons) and if granted, call out "TEST FIRING!" and knock yourself out.

In the same line, it's also recommended to call out when you're done testfiring to avoid confusion.

and don't shoot between the tents, there might be some players without eye protection especially before gamestart. Ask your superior about the testing range

I think the guys added a rule about test-fire. Check the rules for it.

Test firing
During the game when you need to test that your gun works properly, you must scream "TEST FIRE" so people in your base / group know whats going on and not starting to react as it is an enemy assault. All bases should have a shooting-range for test firing. If not, help your commander by setting one up.
