i dont know maybe they dont want me to wake up battle ready in the car
Re: Sleeping in tents
I guess your point is that you can stash your shit under the cot and that way save space.fractured wrote:I know for a fact that everyone takes less space in a 192-66cm tent bed, then in a 195-70 sleeping mattress.
WRONG
Everyone knows that you leave your large bergan outside under a tree, your fighting kit outside near the tent door, day pack and rifle behind your head inside tent.
Re: Sleeping in tents
I might, I have a tarp so stashing isn't really an issue, however I know for a fact that alot of people dont, as I've slept with other peoples guns hitting my head, or their food stash all over my mattress. But if berget says no, it's a no. Just wondered.

Again and again, yes:
(Just a grumpy comment, you could've found that out by looking at the previous page of this very thread.)
You can bring a bed/cot, just make sure it doesn't take up too much space.Berget-events wrote:2.0
Berget-provides a sleepingplace (200 x 60cm) in tent or shelter. Berget-events do not provide any sleepingbag or mattress. It is prohibited to bring larger mattresses/beds than 200 x 60cm to tents supplied by Berget-Events.

Re: Sleeping in tents
So if my tentbed is 190 x 64 x 42 cm, is it then to wide?
I know its said somewhere in the forum somewhere, but since me and my team is in a hurry finding the last pieces for the trip, I understand People can be grumpy and tell me read about it somewhere, anyway, i hope someone at Berget directly can maybe help me and my team out on this Critical question..
Its so much better to lie on a bed inside tent than on the ground, if its raining or so. Not that I am thinking its gonna rain or anything
Thx

Re: Sleeping in tents
BE crew will not go tent to tent to measure the dimensions of your tent bed
64cm wide is ok

Re: Sleeping in tents
People, this is all a non-issue. The rules exist for one reason, and one only. It is so that you won't show up with your 180 sized blowup mattress and go nuts when there isn't space for it.
Based on the two previous games, within the Ravens, though I'm assuming it worked somewhat the same for the other factions. During both the games, placement has been dependent on which platoon you were in if I remember completely.
During Berget 11 the round tents were used, you could not use beds for the reason that the mattresses needed to overlap because of the shape of the tent, there was limited space. Despite this, the tents were not filled, probably half of the capacity one would expect if used by any real military. No problem storing your gear inside. I think we had 4 issued tents in the platoon, and oh, did I mention we left one tent completely unused.
During Berget 12, BE had gotten bigger rectangular tents making it easier to manage the space. I think we were about 1/4 of the capacity, not more at least. Lots of space left. One thing to note, more space = colder.
Remember:
-People bring their own tents.
-What are the odds for your platoon exactly filling a tent?
-People drop out.
-Problems can always be solved on the spot.
To summarize: there is space.
BUT, should there, despite the odds, be tight, it's your responsibility to not take up too much. This may or mat not mean that you get to store things outside. Pack smart, bring only what you need and there won't be any problems.

Re: Sleeping in tents
Very well put.
Someone mentioned to me a while ago that the Berget rules should contain a #1 rule: Use your head.
You've described a good example.
