Ran a BAVS AT4 this year, just like last year. It generally works very well. Unlike last year however, we had rain. My AT4 managed to fog up on the inside of the lens, I did not however get to see the affect this had on range and accuracy as I did not take any long range shots after this. It would probably be good to try and solve this from happening or make it serviceable by the end user (unscrew and wipe clean).

Another positive from this year is that there were new parts to protect the trigger from accidental discharge (on my unit).

There was a screw-up with the payment, which caused my payment not to show up at the check in, however it was resolved at the spot.

The BAVS receivers need to have an automatic reset after a certain amount of time so that players don't forget to reset it or leave the battery disconnected it happens every year and were only human and someone is bound to bring a mech back out with a BAVS disconnected an auto reset would remove the human error from the system.

Hi,

Thank you for an awesome event.

I'd like to give some feedback in regards to the BAVS / AT4 / 40mm system.

I think that the AT4 in particular but also the 40mm should make noise when firing and reloading. It is currently impossible to locate where they are being fired from. I also think that having indefinite ammo is really poor and that they should be limited to like 5 or 8 shots, which can be easily refilled at multiple locations over the entire map. This could also make for interesting sneak-missions where you want to refill your AT4 or 40mm at an enemy held point.

Finally I think that the reload of the AT4's should be more complicated than it is today.

Those are the concrete improvements I think should be done in regards to the BAVS system.

Other than that, thanks for a great arrangement and a system that really seemed to work without any bugs (at least from what I saw)!

Not entirely connected to the BAVS system itself, but I couldn’t find another topic for it.

Last year our car got classified as a class 3, but this year we got classified as a class 1 vehicle. Even though it is the exact same car, but with an even beefier gun turret. When asking crew about this they weren’t interested in listening and was very cranky, except one guy that was friendly and told us that it has to be a bit subjective what class you get. (?!) How come we have rules regarding vehicle classifications when there obviously are subjectivity as well? I find it very weird, and hard for us players to actually know what to do in order to get a specific class.

We also saw vehicles that was _less_ armored than our car but that got class 3.

Regarding noise. Our AT4 made noises when reloading. And our 40 mm granades had both noise and lightning effects. I think that the new BAVS equipment is built this way, but there is still a lot of old configurations that have not been upgraded or exchanged yet.

This is absolutely correct. We make new ones every year, and since last year all new ones have sound effects when reloading and shooting

just one question regarding BAVS.

We installed a static horn in the engine room and are going to install a extending cable from inside in the car to the the turret to save time next year and we wonder what type of contact the cable with the receiver has, is it a RJ-45?

We rented a TOW inlet unit, wich didn't work properly. After Berget Crew looked at it, they switched the IR-Laser.
Unfortunatly it didn't work afterwards aynway. It was probably a faulty fireing unit.

Apart from that it seemed that the UPIR side had an aweful lot of AT4s comparing to NAF.
Is there a control in place on which side gets how many AT4s?

Sorry to hear about your issues with the TOW Unit.

Yes, We only rent out a specific amount of AT4's (which is why so many feel that they are sold out almost instantly) and then keep the others to distribute on site depending on who needs it the most

Over all the BAV system works very well if only the players would remember to plug the bloody things in!

would be great if you could ask what type of contacts it is on the box and on the cable from the receiver :)

We used BAVS and AT4 in our unit.
Both worked great but reload time is very fast. It could be a bit slower. My Bavs had a reload time of 3 seconds.

Our AT4 was used by different groups so they were at the right place where needed.

For the Firing systems: They (AT4 and BAV) worked very fine.
The only issue we saw was that the receiver on the vehicule was sometimes covered by the person / tourette so the shot was not accepted.
