* Feedback - Bashir city *
From this post: viewtopic.php?p=35693#35693
I think I saw the same group as you did in Bashir, after they went game-off. They was walking through town, stopping by at the bar, guns on shoulders and fingers still on the triggers.
I would also want to see a rule for next year that off-game players (wearing deadrags) aren't allowed in town unless they are lying down screaming for medics, or walking the nearest way against their spawn. Some times there were hoards of orange-ragged guys just hanging about in the town. I you want to buy something to eat - head down to the SZ instead of ruing the LARP-moment in Bashir.
I do agree. I encountered a large group of Italians the first night, and the only english word they seemed to know whas "STOP!". I would like to see that the next Berget-event require participants to be able to convensate in english.jdoe wrote: Coupled with their non-existent English skills, this was a total nightmare. And it was not the first or the last time we had sorry thoughts about the Italians. I know there were good players on the Italian team, we fought with them on Saturday, and they really were great guys. But what was this trigger-happy, skirmishing, nonsense mob of weekend players? I think this was not your game to be in, please do not come again to ruin it for everyone else.

Well I was a pathological gambler in my given role, so I was there as much as I could... sometimes I won, sometimes I lost... the trend was negative though haha. I only wish I was the arms dealer so I could gamble for bigger sums...Spof wrote:Who spent most money in teh casino and who won the biggest sum?

I know a couple of the guys in my team did the first heist in BC, more precisely the Casino. Nice and clean, and they got away with 5400 B$ or something like that.

I made it into Bashir City only once unfortunately and didn't get to see much of the LARP happening there. I can't remember exactly which faction was responsible but I did get to see the priest get rescued from whoever had kidnapped him and that was cool. I hope I can get to interact there more next year rather than just attacking and defending the city.

I dont know where to post this but ill post here.
It might be good addition to rules that at least squad leaders are required to speak english in the game. It was little frustrating to encounter squads of enemy who just looked you and mumbled something in their own language as you tried to contact them

I loved bashir!
The biggest reason why was propably because we came up with a cool idea to blow up the apple-selling guy (the drug dealer) with C4 instead of just shooting him. Our(SRP) mission was to assassinate him, you see.
We pretended to be building wireless communications systems to the town and carried the explosives in a crate that played the part of a Wi-Fi transmitter We actually even had to build the detonation cable ourselves from trip wire and tape. The electrical fuses were handy wen you just had to connect them to a PMR. CABOOM! Too bad this wasn't videotaped
What really sucked was the total lock down of Bashir City by NATO forces on the first night. I'm pretty sure no factions got any of their bashir -based missions completed due to this. If it was NATO's mission, though, then kudos to you. A job well done
I hope to see RP -elements such as BC in BE games in the future as well, it's a nice add on to the combat.

It is only logical that the more players you have, the greater the risk of something going to hell. I'd advocate much more military discipline and some sort of punishment to those who don't follow their orders. Also, I believe Berget should start abandoning the "airsoft combat" style of arranging and move more towards milsim. Granted that some people don't want to RP but it isn't hard to come up with a more stable and controllable solution than the current one, which provides more realism while still satisfying those whose main interest is to spew plastic at their opponents. For example the money spent on the toy chopper should instead have been spent on more radios to the squad leaders, so that they could effectively take part of orders given by central command (especially in NATO), and so that they could also contact centcom to resolve issues in the field. The current lack of communication between centcom and the troops in the field is definitely the reason for many of the screwups, as there is no control of what individual troops do on the battlefield. One of the main problems is that people don't think of what consequences their actions have. This is something that is hard to resolve in an "airsoft combat" style of gameplay, whereas in milsim this can be enforced by looking at what would happen in reality. For example, rogue NATO forces on CNN and BBC would be breaking news indeed and would have massive consequences on the international political scene. But in airsoft combat it's just a matter of being bored and go out to have some "frags". I truly hope that the Berget Crew realize this and think about how they should proceed in the future in order to improve the quality of Berget events.motörhead wrote:This subject may be worth a thread of its own - i.e. individual skirmish mindset versus milsim in big airsoft-events affecting game dynamics etc.
It may seem like airsoft-events beyond a certain number of participants can result in some people diverting from the game plan to seek more individual action instead of following the chain-of-command and staged game dynamics.
In my experience, Berget has never been for the "actionminded", but rather those that want the whole package. Bashir was a perfect complement to the already existing functions in the series, and I honestly hope it evolves even more to B8, giving even more room for roleplaying and interaction betweem players, factions and objects.
